Specialty Merchandising Corporation
I've met several flea market vendors and even Ebay sellers who swear by them... |

| You see a lot of "craft's" sites about. I would imagine they do quite well. |

Just a head's up on this company
I signed up for one of their warehouses to check their wholesale rates and MSRP...terrible markup rates and their "wholesale" price was around retail i found elsewhere and in some cases even higher.
While I understand when someone dropships for you, it'll cost more, but those prices didn't even include their dropshipping charges and shipping charges (which are based on the dollar amount).
I was mainly interested in their healthcare type products as I was going to build a little healthcare/supplements type store for my wife to run on the side for fun and a little extra something to do and a few extra bucks.
I was amazed at how high their "wholesale" prices were (in comparison to what I found at other sites, I'm aware of the typical costs of health and fitness products).
Many of their products were wholesale priced at about $3-5 below MSRP, not much of a markup wehn I can get some to private label a batch of vitamins and supplements for more than $12-15 markup.
This isn't a slam against their company, customer service, etc. which I never tried, it was just based upon their wholesale pricing...and a simple head's up. |

This is true, but I'm guessing if you buy private label then you are buying in bulk. You will always be able to find better prices when you buy in bulk. For people that will only sell 1-30 a month of a product that don't want to buy a case of 100. It really isn't bad.
The good part I see with this company is that you have 30 days to return, most drop shipping companies only take back damaged goods. Also their shipping on many products is less through them then it is through some of the direct drop shipping companies from what I have seen. I pay $1-2 more for the product here, but $10-20 less in shipping.

Thanks for the heads up Sykk. There are cons as well as pros about drop shipping. We just have to do our research and find the best companies
overall. I am thinking that since I know of a lot of wholesale places up in New York City I might go that way and work with somebody I know. At least if there are problems I have someone I can go to.
Or maybe get Tony Soprano to go to them with an offer they can't refuse...hehehehehe
