What do you guys usually do for July 4th? Stay home and BBQ? Visit relatives? Use the time to catch up on work?

My kids are in the town's parade on Sunday, then we are going over to friends for a BBQ & fireworks. Either Saturday or Monday we might take the boat out & have a picnic, then of course Monday night big fireworks display for the town.

My girlfriend has one sister coming in from Denver, and another coming in from Chicago.

I try and hide in my office, so that I can come out in time for the fireworks on Monday night. WAY too much estrogen ... smile

I'll probably stay home and work. There have been fireworks going off here for about two weeks now. I am going to miss all the noise when the holiday is over LOL.

I live in the UK, thats just like any other normal day for me,

Maybe this year I might light a sparkler and have a beer and join in with you guys for ten minutes or something,

Yeah, but you get to have fireworks and burn effergies of people on top of bonfires Nov 5th smile I think we should incorporate the burning of effergies somehow into July 4th smile

Whose effergy do you want to burn exactly? We could make a list and do one each year. Lets start with ex-wives, then mother-in-laws, presidents, noisy neighbors. The possibilities are endless.
