Welcome to Mainstream Webmasters!

Here is what you might call our "Mission Statement", where we say what it is about us that might set us apart from other places, what slant or dynamic we take that helps define what we are all about and what this place is about.

Unashamedly, unabashedly, at the get-go, I would like to say that we are about ... profit!

Yes, that's right. Making money. For ourselves, for you, for each other. And that is what you should be about as well.

Are you on the web to make sites? Or are you making sites to make money? Then, talk about that then -- Making Money is what you do. If you make sites, then they are not what you do ... they are the means to your end.

Mind you, there's plenty of other ways to make money than just sites, but that's left to the articles, resources and forum discussions for you to talk about or figure out.

What this resource and these forums are about is ECOMMERCE. Business on the Internet. Business on a world wide level. The key word is Business.

Yes we certainly do run and certainly do take advertising. Yes you better have a sig in your posts that promotes yourself and is commercial in nature and hopefully makes you money! That is what it's all about.

If you are a hobbiest, if you make pretty sites for the sake of pretty sites, if you "pretend" you have a business, as opposed to knowing you have a business and running it like a business -- then you will no doubt want to go elsewhere -- with all of the other poor people moaning they don't make money either. Misery loves company we understand.

But if you are making money or if you have the fervent desire and drive to make money or to make more money ... then you came to right place!

Participate, learn from others, share what you know, experiment, discuss, and profit!!

congrats dravyk & electra for getting this off the ground & for doing such a thorough job.

so far almost everyone here makes their income solely from internet business/ecommerce working with all different areas of the market. there's so much information that we all can learn from each other, and I'm looking forward to picking up new information and sharing my experiences with others.

Good job guys

cheers to you!

(and thank goodness for better smilies) roll eyes up

Optional, how are you doing? Good to see you!

Yes, that guy does have some excellent aritlces. He's among my favorite writers here.

There's a few others ... trying to think ... there's one guy from SearchEngine Geek Jon Ricerca who likes to put the SEs through indepth scientific analysis. All his articles include chart graphs to prove his points.

Let's see who else can I recommend? We have some very good series here.

- Check out Making Money with Affiliate Programs It's a good three-parter, and that's the link to part one.

- A new series we just started should not be overlooked either. It's a four parter. The name was sooo long we had to truncate it a bit to make it fit ... that's why it might be overlooked. But I'm telling you I think it's one of the best yet with a ton of great info.

It's listed here as "19 Common Mistakes that Prevent ..." the full title is:

19 Common Mistakes that Prevent Your Web Site from Showing Up on Search Engines

Part one went up just the other day, and the other three parts ... well, you'll just have to keep your eyes peeled in the days ahead. groucho / leer

Remember folks, you can comment on each article and give each article star ratings! Don't hestitate to participate and voice your opinions on what you like and don't like! smile

For the one or two folks who might not understand the difference between pro-commerce and pro-spam ... Learn the difference.

This is not your blank check to do drive-by spamming. That will not be tolerated. As one poster has already found out.

Contribute, market -- but no spam.

Got it? If you don't get it, trust me, you will. flaming mad

Now where is One&Only with their $1.50 blind email signup :-D

On an unrelated issue.... These table rows with the link is kinda annoying,
unless maybe you change the mouse cursor icon. I keep clicking back in
this window to get focus and end up in some thread or forum or other
page I wasn't actually looking at.
