Is it by using an escrow service? If so, who can recommend some with good track records?

Other than "by faith" which will potentially kick you in the arse you unless you know the other person buying or selling the domain .... Are there other ways? Easier but less secure? Just as secure as escrow?

Escrow is the only secure way. Faith is only good for 1 hour on Sundays smile

We offer an escrow service Harry if you need one. Its not widely publicized as we are - in amongst all the other things we are working on.. working on that process too... but if you need it, I'd be happy to assist.

fwiw ...
Stay away from sedo .. I've seen too many screwups of late to recommend them.

Yeah, I've heard Sedo is not a good idea too.

Cool on the escrow stuff. Figured you might have that.

We have some domains that we've not been doing a lot with. So it might be time to see if there's any gold in those hils. smile

If it's a high value transaction, Escrow.com is the most popular and reliable service for securing the transfer. If it's fairly low value you could just use PayPal though it's a bit riskier. In general, if you want good protection you need to find a service that will take ownership of the domain until the funds are delivered.
